Brass strip application and processing

Brass strip is a long conductor of rectangular or chamfered sections made of copper, used to carry current in circuits and connect electrical equipment.

Because copper is better than aluminum in conducting electricity, brass strip has been widely used in electrical equipment, especially in power distribution units. Generally, the phase A, B, C, N master tape and PE master tape in the power distribution cabinet are all brass strips. Brass belt is mainly used in a line, in the electrical cabinet of a larger current of the connection of components are with brass belt, such as an electrical cabinet in the cabinet and cabinet is connected between the master band, the master band to each side of the switch electrical cabinet is branch master band.

The main consideration with brass strip is to carry the flow, according to the size of the current to choose the appropriate brass belt, the screw at the connection must be tightened, otherwise the current will appear the possibility of melting brass belt.

The processing methods of brass strip are as follows: semi-continuous ingot heating – hot rolling – cold rolling. This method is a mature traditional production method, widely used. It is suitable for large-scale production, in addition to the production of strip and rolling cross cut sheet, but also suitable for the production of different thickness and width of the plate.

Horizontal continuous roll casting – cold rolling process. This method also belongs to the modern brass strip processing production method, but in the production scale, alloy grade, product width has certain limitations, in the product thickness is only suitable for the production of strip and width of the thin plate.

Block billet – cold rolling and extruded billet – cold rolling method. This method has been seen in industrial developed countries, but because of its limited variety of application, it is not widely used in brass strip processing. In contrast, copper strip, brass strip processing, semi-continuous ingot heating – hot rolling – cold rolling method as a reference and choice.
