2. The protruding length of the tool should be as short as possible, or use a thicker tool holder to increase the strength of the tool and reduce the deformation during processing. This has a relatively large impact on the finish of the processed workpiece.
3. The characteristic of the copper strip material itself is that it is relatively soft and sticky. When processing, pay attention to using sharp knives. At present, some cutting tool manufacturers specialize in the processing of copper materials and use ultra-fine particle cemented carbide materials to grind the cutting tools, and the processing effect is better.
4. When processing copper materials, the cutting line speed has no obvious effect on the life of the tool. In other words, when processing copper materials, the adjustable range of the spindle speed is relatively large. Generally speaking, when using a φ6 flat bottom knife, the spindle speed is around 14000 (rev/min).
5. The chip breaking characteristics of the copper strip material are not good, and it is easy to form relatively long chips. Therefore, the rake face of the tool to be processed must be smooth, which can reduce the friction between the chip and the tool. This point is also more important, it has a greater impact on the use of the tool.
6. When processing red copper materials with self-ground knives, the back angle can be larger to improve the sharpness of the knives. Also pay attention to the polishing of the rake face. The particles of the grinding wheel should be fine, so as to grind out sharp knives. When pointing, the angle of the point point is smaller, so that the processing effect is better.
