Uses of Brass Rods
1. It can be used for all kinds of deep-drawing and bending parts, such as pins, rivets, washers, nuts, conduits, barometers, screens, radiator parts, etc.
2. It has excellent machine function, excellent plasticity in hot state, acceptable plasticity in cold state, good machinability, easy welding and welding, and corrosion resistance. It is a common type of brass that is commonly used.
The use of copper rods
1.1. The use of red copper rods is much wider than that of pure iron. Every year, 50% of copper is electrolytically purified to pure copper, which is used in the electrical industry. The red copper mentioned here really needs to be very pure, with a copper content of more than 99.95%. A very small amount of impurities, especially phosphorus, arsenic, aluminum, etc., will greatly reduce the conductivity of copper.
2. Oxygen in copper (a small amount of oxygen is easily mixed in copper smelting) has a great influence on electrical conductivity. Copper used in the electrical industry must generally be oxygen-free copper. In addition, impurities such as lead, antimony, and bismuth will make the crystals of copper unable to combine together, causing hot brittleness and affecting the processing of pure copper. This high-purity pure copper is generally refined by electrolysis: using impure copper (that is, blister copper) as the anode, pure copper as the cathode, and copper sulfate solution as the electrolyte. When the current passes through, the impure copper on the anode gradually melts, and the pure copper gradually precipitates on the cathode. The copper obtained in this way; the purity can reach 99.99%.
